Not “faster”, but I would say “better”.
I’ve heard it said from several different sources that they would prefer a 10M Fiber Circuit over 100M cable any day. But it really just depends on the customer’s needs on which one would be “better” for them.

– One reason “better” might apply being a circuit-based connection is symmetrical (same upload speed as download speed). Please note I said “circuit-based” and not “fiber”. Today even “fiber” can mean different things. FTTI or Fiber to the Internet (like Verizon FIOS or AT&T U-verse) for instance is not the same as Fiber Ethernet. Fiber Ethernet is “circut-based” sort-of. FTTI is “shared”. One reason for the big difference in price.
– almost all cable is asymmetrical (where upload speed is usually only 10% to 20% of the d/l speed)
– another reason is the reliability of circuit-based. Circuits will almost always come with a Service Level Agreement, guaranteeing its up time and is literally built differently from the shared FTTI or cable services. Again one reason for the big price difference and the usually much longer install time frame.

Does that help any?
